Paid Casting Call for Short Sketch Comedy
We’re looking for females somewhere in the range of roughly 50 - 70 to play the Jackie, the mother of the 35-year old male lead in a short sketch comedy that we’re producing for BBC Short Stuff.
Jackie is a bubbly, thoroughly positive and smiley character who is naturally very diplomatic and loves to avoid conflict at all costs. She has nothing but very polite and cheerful contributions to make even as her son and his ex-girlfriend devolve into a cringeworthy passive-aggressive war. We’re looking for a naturalistic performer who can bring a grounded tone to an absurd situation. You’ll have one sexually awkward moment to navigate, as detailed in the script below, so it might not be one to show the (grand)kids!
We’ll be shooting in Glasgow on Sunday 5th March or on Thursday 9th March TBC (the form below asks for your availability for both dates, so don’t worry if you’re only available on one of them). This role is of course PAID and fee is negotiable. Please include video of some description in your submission; self-tapes aren’t required but they’re often super helpful.
